LOWESTOFT AIR FESTIVAL NEWS ARCHIVE
Latest News - On the Ground!
26/07/2010

Of course over the two days of the show, its not just about whats flying, but also about what is happening on the ground!
We really do try hard to complement a varied and interesting flying display with varied and interesting things to see and do on the ground as well.
Centrepiece this year will be the giant LED screen! We will endeavour to make the days of the show more interactive with our visitors, with interviews, news etc. along with big screen coverage of some of the flying display as well! More news about the screen in later First news!
Apart from the presence of the LED screen, there will be lots of other things to see and do. For some time now all 100 sites on the seafront have been fully booked and there is a waiting list! Around half of all sites for traders and caterers sites have been taken up from businesses based in Norfolk and Suffolk, with the rest coming from all over East Anglia and other parts of the country.
Included in the 100 sites are a limited number of charity sites, which are offered at special low rates to charities to fund raise or provide information and advice. These always go quickly and have been fully booked since February! (The Air Festival has always been keen to support local charities and over 85 per cent of these sites have gone to Lowestoft charities and others covering Norfolk and Suffolk).
On the Royal Green, overlooking the seafront, demand has also been high from large exhibitors and this year there will be stands from Lings Honda, Hughes Electrical, Waveney Norse waste re-cycling, the RAF ground display unit including a Hawk jet cockpit, Warburtons, the East of England Co-op and Thurlow Nunn.
In addition to the exhibitors there will also be a number of attractions on Royal Green, the seafront and Claremont Pier car park. These will include Meet the Pilots on the RAF display site, Kiss FM dome with interactive games, a large Red Arrows simulator, John Thurstons funfair, giant childrens inflatables, a virtual F1 racing car driving simulator, Water Walker (walking on water in giant inflatable balls!) Norwich City FC Speed Kick football and various military displays.
