How to get to the show: Lowestoft is Great Britain’s most easterly town, and we can easily be reached via road, rail, air and sea!
by air:
Norwich International Airport is 27 miles the area is well served by several local airfields by sea: Lowestoft is an international seaport, and has some first class marina facilities:

by Rail:
On both the main lines from London and the Midlands via Ipswich and Norwich. One Railway will be putting on extra trains to enable you to visit the show; there will be increased capacity on the Ipswich - Lowestoft line

WHEN YOU GET HERE:
Stay in the area, our locality has some fantastic hotels, lodges and bed and breakfast
Accommodation. The local market towns of Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth and Southwold are within easy driving distance of the show, and can offer all sorts of accommodation. The resort of Great Yarmouth is just 10 miles away up the coast.
AIR FESTIVAL PARKING
Parking will always be an issue at such a large and prestigious event. Most of the roads around the sea front will be closed or for emergency services only. Some of the streets around the town centre will also be closed or coned off to allow only emergency services access.

- Official Park and Ride sites:
• Drivers are strongly advised to use only official Air Festival parking which will be very clearly signposted on the days.
• All Seafront car parks will be closed to the public
• There are two convenient “Park and Ride” sites, one to the north of the town and one to the south of the town Both will be clearly signposted from the A12 (north and south) and the A146. There will also be an extended official “Park & Walk” site.
• The Police will be operating a very strict tow-away system for cars or vehicles parked in any restricted areas.

With no more that a 10 – 15 minute walk, you can have the convenience of parking very close to the show – and having only a short distance to travel £6.00 per car.

Please note:
We have special arrangements with our “park and ride” and “park and walk” partners and as such, when you use these official facilities, you can be sure that all profits will be going to the charities that operate them on our behalf, and to the Air Festival itself:
• Park & Ride Sites: 1. Dip Farm Corton (off A12 North of Lowestoft) 2. Pakefield (on A12 South of Lowestoft)
• Park & Ride is open from 8.30am on both days
• Shuttle Buses from Dip Farm will drop you off and pick you up just a short walk to the show
• Shuttle Buses from Pakefield will drop you off / and pick you up in Rectory Road – which is right in the middle of all the action!
• Shuttle buses will run approximately every 10 minutes. Cost will be £10.00 per car, which includes a free bus ride for driver and all passengers!
Parking for the disabled:
Parking facilities for blue badge holders will be provided at Belvedere Road car park (see map) Usual rules apply, and parking charges may be in force: Please note: due to safety requirements for the safe passage of emergency services vehicles, there will be no parking allowed on the sea front, or sea front car parks. |
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
- Lowestoft Town Centre and Seafront is likely to be congested
- Visitors are recommended to use public transport
- Bus and train services will bring visitors to within a short walk of the South Beach

- Additional trains will operate between Norwich and Lowestoft
- There will be increased capacity on the Ipswich - Lowestoft line
