The Lowestoft Sea Front Air Festival is run by a "not-for-profit" company, and could not take place without our dedicated group of volunteers, charities, sponsors and our local council, who all work together as a team to run this prestigious event.

We ask that every visitor make a voluntary donation of £1.00 per person. It is our aim to try to keep our show free in principle, and because of this, our visitors' donations are essential, and their contributions, along with the support of our “Friends of The Air Festival”, will allow us to make our show bigger and better each year!

By coming to Lowestoft, not only can you enjoy our fantastic beaches and unspoilt coast, you can also enjoy two fun-filled, action packed days of:

• Military displays and exhibitions that will interest all the family.

• Funfairs, stalls and simulators for all children large and small,

• A fantastic variety of food and drink outlets, from fish and chips to fudge, all handy on the sea front so you don’t miss any of the action!

• A diversity of stalls and traders the length of the sea front, that will appeal to everyone.

• Music and entertainment hosted by the local hotels and bars.

• A marvellous family atmosphere.

What’s flying?

• We plan to have around 4 hours of superb precision and spectacular flying displays on both days by all sorts of aeroplanes, including the world famous Red Arrows performing their magnificent routine on both days…

• ...and many other appearances including The Blades, Goodyear Extra L300, Aerobatic champion John Taylor, Team Guinot Wingwalkers, P47 Thunderbolt, Catalina, The Tigers Parachute Display Team, Spitfire,etc.etc. (For up to the minute updates of what’s flying and when, join our “Friends”, who get all the news first, directly from the Friends only section of this website!)

New in 2007 and now confirmed for 2008 the town is once again hosting the Honda Powerboat Grand Prix back to back with the Sea Front Air Festival, displaying up to 40 powerboats in adrenalin-pumping race action on the Saturday and Sunday following the sir show.


Flying starts at approximately 12:30 pm each day, until approximately 17:30 pm each day. Large crowds are expected so please come early
